A tressym from the Cormyrian woodland known as the King's Forest, Vashiir is an archmage among his people, with an extensive resume of prestigious wizards—both instructors and students—to whom he has been either a professional assistant or familiar, including the Lady's College of Silverymoon, Blackstaff Tower and the Eltorchul Academy in Waterdeep, several of the Seven Sisters, and Vangerdahast of Cormyr. He communicates almost universally through telepathy, as humanoids are incapable of fully understanding or replicating the tressym language, even with magical assistance.
After receiving word that fellow Cormyrians Lysander Arkaine and Raxam Kelastro had settled in the region, Vashiir visited Freehold on his way to a wizardly conference in Halruaa and decided to stay for an extended period following his return, pledging to help Councilor Shara Graye in establishing the Cynosure.
Though ostensibly quiet and peaceable thanks to his feline nature, Vashiir was revealed as a powerful combative spellcaster and a ruthless tactical opponent during the Ghauwffhwar siege of Freehold, when he disabled multiple enemy officers so they could be held for interrogation, and personally drowned the gnoll leader, Grashork, with an aqueous orb.
His spellcraft played a second pivotal role when he accompanied Councilor Nitis Nochan on his return to the iron mines, and the group discovered Hrrlak's people had been attacked by hill giants. With no time to spare, Vashiir assisted the humans in tracking their quarry to a steading in the foothills of the nearby mountains, where a dangerous rescue was planned. Fortunately, the archmage was able to help recover Councilor Mircea na Heliogabala, along with the greenskins' missing leaders and the elf Caladhuen.
