First Freehold Council.
Along with her familiar, the brownie named Cassandra, Shara came to Freehold in search of a place to study magic in peace; this goal eventually manifested as the proposal of the Cynosure, designed by the wizard to be a municipal entity dedicated to serving and bettering the future of the settlement. Her belief that magic-users should be treated as no better than "mundane" folk won her the respect of Freehold's burgeoning population, which led to her subsequent appointment on 20 Eleint, 1373DR, as a member of the Council to replace the absentee Mircea na Heliogabala during his time at the iron mines. The suggestion was accepted unanimously, as Shara had already served as the unofficial records-keeper for the body up to that point, referred to by fellow villagers as "Secretary Graye."
Though she is known to openly prefer the quietude of a library or the minimal excitement of a laboratory to violence by a wide margin, Shara has nonetheless proven her mettle in pitched combat on multiple occasions: First, during the slavers' raid on Freehold that introduced the settlers to the Ghauwffhwa, and again while accompanying the mine expedition, during the Ghauwffhwar siege, and as a member of the task-force assigned to assassinate Kejujuhwa, when she turned the malevolent Ghauwffhwar leader's magical staff against him after it was stolen by Lysander Arkaine, leading to victory for the Freeholders.
The Councilor was given a break when she co-sponsored and then accompanied the first caravan to Assur, using the trip as an educational experience for her apprentices Starla Kingshand and Kawashiro Katsura. During her time in the city, Shara ably negotiated the procurement of resources necessary for various village projects, such as the Watchtowers. Alongside Lord Aram Lazard, she directed and helped to defend the caravan on the journey east and back again.
Upon her return, Shara began to oversee the construction of the Cynosure in earnest, using violet stone from the deserts of Raurin, far to the northeast. After learning of the terrible incidents comprising the poisoned water crisis, she also proposed the formation of a focus group intended to unearth the mysteries of the ruins under Freehold, as well as the motivations of the giants encountered by the caravan and during Councilor Nitis Nochan's return to the iron mines.

Known in Freehold for her near-albino paleness and attendant dress, as well as her characteristically pedagogical, humble, and absentminded manner, Shara was among the original settlers of Freehold and now serves on the
