The City of Talhamnoduin, Fifth Age

Talhamnoduin (City Sitting upon the River; 4A: Iskbridge) is situated far to the north of the Province of Forlumbulendor, stridling the Oroduin (Mountain River; 4A: River Isk), one of the few that are still free from any taint. Once a vital link between the cold North and more temperate Southern regions, in these dark times the city is but a shadow of its former self, sitting like a fat spider in her glistening web, its walls spiraling ever outwards.

The city is a stronghold of the Dark Elves, lead by Dinear, the Silent one, who sits in its centre upon her throne in her marbled palace. Her will is enforced by the Knights of the Ride, who exact her harsh levies upon those who dwell within her reach. Those who can not pay are condemned to slow death in her dungeons or a swifter one in the arena for her entertainment. Even those who do scrape up the coin may find themselves conscripted at the whim of her Knights to labour in the building of the city's ever growing walls.

Set within a walled complex inside the extended walls of Talhamnoduin, the Tower looms above the city, the cries of the victims of the unholy experiments of the Seekers ring unceasingly. And woe betide those who displease the Silent One, for though she does not speak, it is said that she smiles at the screams when they meet their ends on those bloodied stone slabs ... else, if luck deserts them entirely, to have them stand forever on the Street of Screaming Statues, their living flesh turned to stone by her magics, trapped in the final agony and horror of their fate.
