The Secret Avengers are a group of superheroes currently operating in New York City, where superhuman activity has been outlawed by mayor Norman Osborn. The team is secretly financed by S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Tony Stark, although he denies any public knowledge of their operations. Stark sought to atone for his actions during the Superhuman Civil War, placing his trust in Tigra to rally together a band of heroes to operate in the shadows. The team officially consists of Tigra, Hawkeye, Dagger, Iron Fist and Luke Cage, who were brought together to stop Cletus Kasady's murderous rampage across NYC. However, following the disappearance of several of these heroes, Tigra has now found assistance from Daredevil, Domino, Moon Knight, and Spider-Man. Whether these new heroes will join the team or continue operating independently remains to be seen.
