Maximum Carnage
After Norman Osborn delivered the Carnage symbiote to Kasady inside Ravencroft Asylum, the killer escaped his confines, slaughtering many of his guards. Hearing the approval of another inmate, Shriek, Kasady set the woman free and together they escaped. The two began a killing spree across NYC, soon joined by other villains like Carrion, Demogoblin, and the Spider-Man Doppelganger. After Shriek used her hypersonic powers to agitate crowds of civilians into frenzied riots, she and Carnage found themselves the subject of the Secret Avenger's attention. They battled Tigra and Dagger, with Shriek banished to the Arctic Circle by Tigra's magic. Carnage used the distraction to disappear, coating a civilian in his symbiote to use as a body double while he escaped.

Not long after, Carnage was rejoined by Shriek after she returned to the city via unknown means. Kasady had the woman use her powers to continue starting riots all around the city as they ambushed and captured several heroes across NYC. The fallen heroes were imprisoned in a makeshift jail aboard a semi-truck Kasady dubbed the "Carnage-Mobile" before being transported to the villains' lair. Kasady also raided the Life Foundation building for symbiotes to bond to his rioters, determined to turn all of NYC into "one big happy family." There, Carnage was attacked by Venom, but he managed to defeat and capture Brock with the help of Shriek and Demogoblin, imprisoning the vigilante in the Carnage-Mobile after Carrion stripped him of his Venom symbiote.

Hours into a renewed rampage, Carnage was attacked by Domino, who had been contracted to kill Cletus Kasady. Although Carnage took a hostage, the mercenary was undeterred, and managed to shoot Kasady several times. Shriek battled with Daredevil after he caused her to crash the Carnage-Mobile, dealing a severe blow to Iron Fist as he came to the blind vigilante's aid. When Tigra appeared again to subdue Carnage and Shriek, the killers fled, not wanting to deal with the mighty Sorceress Supreme. The two headed to a makeshift lair they had located with the help of a mysterious benefactor who was aiding them behind the scenes.
