Yokai / Yaoguai
A catch-all name that includes a wide variety of supernatural entities that mainly crossed the veil near south-east asia. Western versions of these creatures do exist but they are for all intents and purposes the same species as their asian counterparts. Most of them are shapeshifters or Bakemono.
Unlike normal shifters, these beings are not human. Their true form is either spiritual / celestial / demonic in nature, or they are supernatural sentient animals that can shift into human form.
