Fisherman's League
Built around the local prewar population of mariners and longshoremen. They are currently were structured around semi-independent Captains, who raise and maintain their own tight knit crews. "Captains" may either command vessels or are land based, controlling dock, warehouse, and fish plant facilities. The rank of Captain is established through voting which is done by the relevant crewmen. Though once a center of shipbuilding, the current situation has not allowed Gdansk's post-war industry to recover. Between 1998 and 2000, only one mid-sized boat and perhaps half a dozen small skiffs have been built or refurbished. Fishing is the primary role of the fleet, though the League is known to commit acts of piracy as well. Nevertheless, the importance of the fleet, especially during the lean winter months, means the League enjoys high standing with the local population.

Update: Following the actions of Halina Nowak a large number of League members have defected to her. The League's remaining loyalists now appear to be working with (or working for) the Merchant Union.
