Like Sigmar, Myrmidia was once a mortal hero. She led her people to great victories against Greenskins and the barbarians of the north. According to Tileans she was born and lived in Tilea, while Estalians insist she was an Estalian and place the myths about her in their own country. According to legend, she was selected to be appointed queen, but suffered an assassination attempt at her coronation. While dying, she commanded a ship to be built, sailed off to the West, and ascended to godhood.

Most in the Empire consider Myrmidia to be a regional god and pay her no mind, just as Sigmar is not worshipped in the south. Southerners, though, insist that Myrmidia is an integral part of the divine pantheon. They claim she was not born to mortal man, but was the child of Verena and Morr taking on mortal garb.

Myrmidia's domain is war, specifically, the art and science of war. As a result, her worship has spread beyond her southern homelands to some extent. Worship of Myrmidia was spread by Tilean and Estalian mercenaries in service abroard, and is growing ever more popular among professional soldiers. The strictures of Ulric, traditional god of war, condemn the use of such things as blackpowder weapons as cowardly, so military engineers and gunners who rely on such weaponry are particularly fond as Myrmidia as an alternative.

Symbols

Myrmidia's symbol is a spear behind a shield. This is often worn as a pendant to bring luck in battle.

  2. Respect prisoners of war.
