Goblins have used adaptability, cruelty and perseverance to overcome their natural disadvantages to create one of the most powerful and dangerous empires ever known on Tolomar. What most would call a goblin are both the original version of the species as well as the baseline from which all other goblinoids were created. By far the most numerous members of the empire, goblins should not be underestimated.

Originally from deep underground, the constant danger of violent death forced the cruel goblins to work together for their survival. Upon discovering the miracle of alchemy, the goblins began using it ruthlessly to survive. Not satisfied with the secrets of flame and acid, they began experimenting on themselves, producing other goblinoid races to serve specific ends. Cruel to a fault, every discovery was used to inflict pain upon others.

Exploiting these new advantages, they cut a place for themselves deep underground, methodically taking land and resources for themselves. Their underground empire soon became the most feared entity known of below. Right up until their disastrous war with the orcs, which drove them to the surface.

Cowardly, petty and abusive, goblins are mobile skirmishers who enjoy inflicting pain from a distance.

Classes:
Alchemist: This class has religious import amongst goblin society and any goblin with any talent whatsoever for alchemy does anything they can to succeed as one.  An alchemist has more societal clout amongst goblins than any other, and even Bugbears afford alchemist respect for fear of their powers.  Only the Halrue themselves command greater respect than an alchemist.
Gunslinger: Similar to their interest in alchemy the mastery of firearms suits goblins very well.  As projectile weapons, their small size is of little impediment and they can apply their incredible agility to great effect.
Investigator: So-called field alchemists, investigators are a different style of alchemist, a spy and problem solver.  These goblins possess all of the clout of the standard Alchemist, but their ability to ply their wits into unique solutions makes them invaluable assets in the empire.
Unchained Rogue:The majority of goblins with class levels make their way through their agility and guile, using whatever tricks and stabs they manage to scavenge.
