Created centuries ago in response to an attempt by the goblins to invade a Troglodyte theocratic empire. The Trogs made use of powerful and terrifying demonic magic that the goblins’ usual masses were unable to combat effectively.  The Imperial Alchemists created a race of super soldiers, disciplined and strong to ensure success.  These creatures, bred for war, were the hobgoblins.  Born into adulthood and trained day in and out in the arts of war, these warriors are fearsome in the pursuit of their goals.

Classes:
Alchemist: Some Hobgoblins show promise in the disciplined pursuit of the art of Alchemy, favouring those styles that boost their physical prowess for use on the battlefield.
Fighter: Hobgoblin fighters created the phalanx formation, shielded units able to wear down nearly any opponent, particularly when supported by alchemists at the centre of their formation.
Cavalier: Mounted upon strange alchemically altered beasts known as Krenshar, a Hobgoblin Cavalry charge is a terrible sight to behold.
Gunslinger: Elite fighting units of pistoleros and riflemen, these are the goblinoids equivalent to archers.
Slayer: The hobgoblin scouting specialist combining a disciplined mind with a deadly knack for war.
Warder: The vanguard and backbone of the hobgoblin phalanx alongside Fighters.
Warlord: Using daring and morale to lead their units to victory, theirs is a proud tradition amongst hobgoblins.
