Ersadian Characters and Alignment

Alignments can be a confusing topic to discuss, especially given the following rule of thumb in the Ersadian Campaign Setting: no Prime Material race is inherently evil or good. There is room for many possibilities in Ersadia, and a city filled with kobolds doesn’t necessarily mean the city is of poor moral character. In fact, those kobolds could very well worship Optimen, the god of good. This said, all mortals on the Prime Material plane are expected to live within a certain moral ruleset wherein an action is either determined, by the gods, as an evil action, a good action, or a neutral action. Prime Material mortals have free will. This means they are free to do whatever action they feel to be correct, but in doing so, must face either the consequences or the boons.
