Bor
The word “bor” in Kellese, their native language, means “light.” It is the base word for their people because they believe themselves to be gods trapped in mortal bodies. Traditionally speaking, the Bordine way is one of oppression, bias, and unprecedented cruelty. They are a hardy folk capable of living in any region of the world. Containing one of the most racist human ethnicities in the world, the Bor are typically not the friendly sort. They seek to eradicate an ethnicity that shares their bloodline, and apart from that, they wish to destroy all others.
There are two ways of thought currently developing in Bordine society: the idea of a republic (espoused by Bordine Republicans) and an overall separation from prejudice and cruelty (lead by the Azbet sect).
Most of the Bordine population believe in self-divinity. They believe themselves gods in full power of their mortal bodies. As such, other races find them often to be intolerable company. Yet, of all the negative aspects relating to the Borum, they are highly knowledgeable and adept at complex arts, like engineering and arithmancy.
- Kelbor
Kelborum are egocentric, and they constitute the majority of the race. Kelborum consider other Bordine ethnicities to be themselves impure, but in the end, they magnanimously consider all ethnicities to be of Bordine descent.
- Embrigal
A Kelbor tainted by the blood of the other-dimensional beings, those who blessed the Kelborum with knowledge, is called an Embrigal. Oftentimes, the potency of the strange, alien race’s blood bubbles into dominancy and empowers the Embrigal magically. They become powerful sorcerers whose bloodline is unlike any other in all of Ersadia. These Embrigaldine individuals are seldom found out because they are not vastly different in appearance, but once discovered, they are discriminated against, violently treated, and oftentimes killed in the name of racial cleansing.
- Azbet
There are those who wish to resist the republican movement, the Keldine way of life, and they reject any proclamation that they are divine beings at all, save the soul most Borum believe to exist inside them. These Kelborum individuals, called the Azbetum, demand to be left to their ways of monarchies and feudalism. They see through the ruse of the Republic. Any Azbet is a conservative at heart. They wish to resist advancement socially and sometimes technologically. These people are small in population, so the movement toward resistance is kept secret and guarded fiercely against whistleblowers. They tend to reject Emerdine supplicants, immediately accept any Feredine, and very seriously consider any Keldine before moving forward with acceptance into their society.
- Republican
A very small minority of the Bordine race is beginning a trepidatious migration toward a new way of thought: the republic. Specifically, the Republic of Bor postulates that each Bor is a divine being and deserves recognition. The Republic is accepting of Kelborum, Emerborum, and Fereborum ethnicities (Embrigalum are still fugitives to this society). However, it is all a horrible ruse designed to disguise the real purpose of the republic: controlling people.
- Embrigal
- Emerbor
The Emerdine ethnicity is a violent, anarchic bunch of large individuals bent on pillaging others. Their violence is fueled for the desire for action, glory, and fame. For an Emberbor, there are no alliances, there is no quarter given, and there is no salvation after the edge of a sword or fist of a warhammer breaks through the skin for the last and final time. There is no peace, no rest, and certainly no trust.
- Gramadurum
A Gremadur is an Emerdine person, of unusual composure for his or her kind, belonging to a special force, the Gramadurum as a whole, responsible for maintaining a flowing production line for the acquisition and distribution of Keldine raw materials and goods. They are hired footpads of the Keldine nobles and are generally despised because of it. The Gramadurum, usually led by a Keldine representative, are those who level their swords in defense of these principles. A Gramadur is a representative of order among Emerdine people, and because of this combined with the fact they work for the Keldine, they are abhorred. Their mark is a leather face mask bearing a grimacing visage with a plume of feathers as a beard. Even though the Gramadurum exist (one could say because they exist), there are still frequent incidents that occur, and the Keldine production line is halted. Being a Gramadurum is usually a thing passed down by generation, as the Kelborum have trained them to do. It is too dangerous and too much of a hassle to try to find Emerdine people willing to work.
- Gramadurum
- Ferebor
Fereborum are physically weaker than Kelborum and Emerborum and are often the target of bullying tactics due to the Feredine tendency to be freedom fighters.
Kokunu
For the Kokununei, reputation is everything. If one is not perceived as honorable, then one has lost all proclivities that made them a being worthy of anything. If honor is lost, it is proper societal etiquette to chop off one’s hand. The Kokununei are a people set in their ways; tradition is thick in this culture, and those traditions can be set with the best intentions or with the worst. This all depends on whether the one setting the traditions is a tyrant or a saint.
Koket respect their elders and, as an extension, authoritative bodies. They appreciate the world at its simplest level, and they revere the process of life and creation. It is no wonder that their society, as a whole, favors the Council of Five as their primary source of divine protection.
Apart from their sense of honor, Kokununei value balance in all else. The culture seeks to align its daily routines with natural systems where possible. As such, they tend to not be wasteful in their lifelong quest to provide a degree of succor to the world. In their view, the world is ill, and the treatment must come from those doing honorable things.
- Etokona
The Etokonanei are a spiritual group of traditionalists. They seek to better the world through the betterment of themselves. They believe that honor is the catalyst to changing the sick world into which they were born. It is their imperative to work toward worthiness through honorable acts, and in the end, the world will be better because of it.
- Gamdwei
The Gamdweinei have a more materialistic approach to life. Their government is a matriarchy where the womenfolk feed a special fruit to men to make their muscle mass grow exponentially. In turn, the males are used to rape the world of its resources as fast as possible. Gamdweinei covet things just to have them, sell them, and gain more materials. They are not spiritual, and they pay lip-service to religion and spirituality.
Skardan
The Skardan people are some of the most simple-minded of the human race. Their culture, in the past, has centered around nature, but they are unsatisfied in these days. They are basic in their knowledge and are emerging as a subrace. They seek a more comfortable life centered around knowledge and technology, but they have no other allies with which to trade goods or knowledge.

Verikan
A Verikanpesh society is a rare one because these are a people of the wastelands. It is not that they choose to live in the wastelands, but they accept the idea that they were fated to do so. Most are too afraid to leave their ramshackle civilization for fear of dying in the wastes. They value the ideas of community, research in technology, research and practice of magic (usually the dark side of it), endocannibalism (the practice of eating dead loved ones as a source of food and in spiritual grievance), and fighting for survival in all aspects.

Vlay
The Vlayti are what most would view as a typical human. They are horse masters, proficient with the knowledge of nature, masterful sea-farers, greedy merchants, and inspiring leaders.
- Albayk
The Albayti are known for their vast network of trade ships. They are a passionate people and are loyal companions and business partners. Albayti bonds are so strong that, oftentimes, they stay by a friend or business partner at the expense of their personal income. An Albayk is most happy near water and happier when that body of water is vast. Their souls seem tied to the brine and its absence may affect an Albayk in a rather negative, and perhaps unidentifiable, fashion.
- Mlurbayk
The Mlurbayiv hunger for knowledge about the world is insatiable; they pursue it at all costs, but their methods are not always the most efficient. The Mlurbayiv culture has traversed a great deal of philosophical and intellectual ground. They have achieved a good standard of living, with stone and wood buildings of many stories in height, steel armaments and tools, and a dignified gubernatorial body. Throughout the process, they managed to hold onto some portion of their heritage: their mastery over horses. Indeed, their knowledge of the beasts has only expanded into new fields of application, such as harnessing their power to construct elaborate buildings and training larger breeds for war.
A high degree of pride penetrates the Mlurbayiv spirit, yet they are not often consumed by hubris. Their attention to details is notable, but oftentimes their focus is too sharp to see obvious flaws. When confronted with error, Mlurbayti usually react with patience and reflection rather than anger and accusations. In regard to nature, the Mlurbayiv way is to be kind and doting, especially to horses.
- Horbu
- Kaktao
- Rebayn
These are people who cling to hope in the midst of desperation. They are highly sophisticated, well-rounded, and generally good people. Magic, they believe, is the only thing that can save their people through a perilous journey of survival. They cling to magic; everything about them is magic, from the way they clean themselves to the socks they wear to the way they defend themselves. Conversing with Rebayti can be aggravating for others, for whatever is said is quite often redirected to be about magic or find its origin therein. This demonstrates the subtle hint that Rebayti seek validation from other races about their own place in the world. After the age of the Mageocracies and the Great Cataclysm, they are frequently the victims of, at the least, discrimination and, at the worst, ethnic cleansing. These actions have forced them to become measurably more cautious. Most Rebayti are nervous, some are paranoid, and few others develop a severe psychosis. Removed from these constant threats, Rebayti are pleasant enough company. They are gracious, thoughtful, courteous, and polite to others. They are a studious ethnic group, placing those of physical prowess in lower positions in society.
- Horbu
- Tlemayz
The Tlemayti are an ethnicity who value greed, lust, and wrath. Few virtues ever grace the presence of a Tlemayiv society and live long. They are gluttonous, as well. The hold material things to be important, visual reminders of all that matters in life. Without fine things, life is not worth living. They hardly think of spiritual matters, except in the study of dark arts or healing abilities (which they find very useful when a sword slices through their bellies). They are despicable and covetous, divisive and backstabbing. Despite all of their bad qualities, they are highly organized, intelligent forward-thinkers. They devise plans of exquisite detail with numerous backup strategies to deal with a variety of complications. In thick times of war, it is good to have a Tlemayiv adviser at hand.
