''Not to be confused with Arcadia.''

Arcade World

Two friends, a boy and a girl, who love video games find out a strange secret about video games that makes them seem - or even be - real.

That's not the weirder original pitch of Glitch Techs or the plot of No Game No Life. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the indie comic book series Arcade World by Nate Bitt.

Yes, that's a real story, not some misinterpretation of Glitch Techs.

Arcade World in Arcade World

There used to be an abandoned building in a town somewhere. Then one day it somehow had turned into an arcade overnight!

This being a new arcade in the 2020s, a rarity in North America, this was kinda sus. Me thinks an impostor is afoot.

Despite this, the kids of the town loved it, and two particular kids, the main characters, manage to beat every game in the arcade with the highest scores.

But it seems Arcade World wasn't done with them when they left out of boredom. The "proprietor" of the arcade, who is secretly a character from a rhythm game, is beholden to shadowy figures known as "The End"...

It could show up, but for now it has yet to play a direct role in the story, instead providing a unified theme with Glitch Techs, THE FINALS, and Pixel-Ripped.
