Dice Pool System
Roll a number of D6s equal to Makes + Bearings + Gear.
6 = success.
More 6s = better outcome.
Pushing Your Roll
If you don’t get a 6 or want more 6s, you can push your roll, re-roll all dice that didn’t come up as a 6.
After the re-roll, you must suffer an Affliction.
Brine Points
Whenever you suffer an Affliction, you gain 1 Brine Point.
You can spend 1 Brine Point to roll one extra die on any skill check.
You may spend multiple Brine Points on a single roll (up to 3).
Brine Points refresh only through suffering Afflictions either via pushing rolls or taking damage.
Thirst
Your Thirst drives you when the sea is cruel, your ship battered, and your pursuers close behind. It is the hunger for gold, revenge, or freedom that keeps you alive when all else fails.
Once per session, before making a skill roll, you may call upon your Thirst to gain a +2 dice bonus.
Curse
A Curse is the shadow you carry, dark and relentless, whispering trouble wherever you sail. It haunts your steps on deck and ashore, a past you cannot escape, a secret you dare not reveal, or a debt owed to men, gods, or the sea itself.
