Computers IMTU are not as powerful as our computers today. There is very little AI, and all of that is no-volition or low-volition AI; that is, they can't make real decisions. Tablet computers can do various things: phone, vid phone, news, text editing, OCR (15 min per page), show entertainment. In addition, a tablet may have one program (for a specific mental skill); it gives skill-0 if you don't have the skill, otherwise, +1 to skill. The skill bonuses only apply if taking extra time.

A computer similar to a ship computer/1 is the size of a desk. The ship's use computers from the original High Guard (CT).
