Dice Pool System
Roll a number of D6s equal to Attribute + Skill + Gear.
6 = success.
More 6s = better outcome.
Pushing Your Roll
If you don’t get a 6 or want more 6s, you can push your roll, re-roll all dice that didn’t come up as a 6.
After the re-roll, you must suffer an Ail.
Grit Points
Whenever you suffer an Ail, you gain 1 Grit Point.
You can spend 1 Grit Point to roll one extra die on any skill check.
You may spend multiple Grit Points on a single roll (up to 3).
Grit Points refresh only through suffering Ails either via pushing rolls or taking damage.
Spur
Your Spur is what keeps you going when your body’s broken and the trail’s gone cold.
Once per session, before a skill roll, you may call on your Spur for a +2 dice bonus.
Burden
A Burden is the secret you carry, shameful, haunting, or dangerous. It dogs your steps, stirring trouble on the trail and in town. Maybe it’s a past you can’t outrun, a habit you hide, or a truth too heavy to speak.
