McHerny Elk's Temple
A location built for the Fraternal Order of the Elks this Beaux Arts style building fell out of its original use some twenty years ago and ended up purchased by an overly optimistic hotel chain that is now regretting that choice. The site has never been even close to full and most days barely sees the smallest fraction of rooms occupied with the location running on a skeleton crew of staff the majority of the year. Recently there has been an agreement in place with the local government to provide partially subsidised rooms to employees new to the area and seeking more long term residences. In particular certain jobs around Hollowbrook have an especially high turnover rate and it has become a bit of a running joke that the more long-term residents of the Temple leave forever one way or the other, either to residences of their own, out of town with no desire to return or occasionally by coroner's wagon. Though it tends not to be overly publicised everyone local knows people have died in McHenry's and while in most cases these deaths were entirely natural it has done little to help business.
