"Mysterious Woman" - A dark and alluring noblewoman who plays the qhit'al alone in a high-class park. She is absurdly wealthy, but also very generous. She briefly met Kavian Aminar, and offered him some charity. Her opinion of him is mixed. She respects him for caring for others but she was very unhappy with how he approached her - his flowery speech was not to her taste and she repeatedly told him to speak plainly.
"Rez" - A young street urchin with some connection to Jasper Cerus.
"Teacher" - A mysterious man in the Lilac Garden Expanse who taught Feri, Nala and many other children how to read and write, as well as various rogueish techniques ranging from knife fighting to surveillance.
"Xiang Di" - An unusually intelligent beast encounted by Zhao Li Hua during her travels. It had been injured, corrupted and driven half-mad by a strange and evil thorn. Zhao Li Hua helped resolve this problem, and got a powerful traveling companion for a short time.

A


Alvisdan - An Elder of Jorgrim with mysterious powers. He has been strongly protective of Sigismund since an incident with Kuergrin. Alvisdan killed Zhao Li Hua in 412 AV because she would not agree to stay away from Sigismund. Mutually aware of Nahur. Kavian and Asherah have met him, and he strongly requested (it was more like a demand) that they stay away from Sigismund - Alvisdan felt whatever was happening was dangerous and wanted no part in it.
Amir Aminar - A member of the Aminar Gang. He is extremely cautious, bordering on being cowardly. Thirteen years old. Often paired with Mabarak to counterbalance each other.
Anzar Aminar - An astounding natural genius. A member of the Aminar Gang. Despite being only nine years old, he is insanely talented and competent at almost anything you put in front of him. His future is limitless.
Asher - Younger sibling of Asherah.
Astagorius Homark - An incredibly talented spearman who is currently a sort of 'champion' under Jasper Cerus. The leader of the 91st Mutiny Squadron.

Balshad Hamurat - A Sedorian merchant who was hired by Zhao Jiugong to escort Zhao Li Hua far to the west.
Baltar Terias - Current Autarch of the City-State of Mutiny in the Atar Khos Empire.
Batzori Narmag - A middle-aged soldier of the 72nd Mutiny Squadron. He is a rumored pedophile.
Bazat Aminar - An overweight ten year old boy. He is a member of the Aminar Gang, and acts as their best intelligence gatherer. He is deeply pessimistic about life, but he works hard to survive anyway.
Belhem Rhun - One of the three leaders of the Resistance during the Tribes of Color invasion. He has a mysterious pass and was known to be nomadic for most of his life. He had previously visited the lands both to the east and to the west of the Mangrove Mazes. He disappeared at the end of the war, his body likely buried somewhere beneath the bog...
Blue Sage Golan - An Elder of Jorgrim.
Bonam Rogens - A skilled bronzesmith in Tav Andor who takes on many apprentices.
Brynja Ravenfeather - An Elder of Jorgrim.

Dormatteo Albas - A commander of Denaster troops. A self-absorbed, incompetent, pathetic and weak-willed man. His soldiers secretly call him 'Freck'.
Drannik Hildrebrandt - An Elder of Jorgrim. Father of Kolga Hildebrandt.

Elder Gustav - An Elder of Jorgrim.
Elder of Nusen - One of the earliest allies of the Flotilla. After meeting with Ahirom, he and the other elders of the village decided to give up their lives in a final, futile stand.
Elder Tormod - An Elder of Jorgrim.
Enkha Endagores - A member of the 83rd Mutiny Squadron. An intelligent schemer who targets talented newbies.
Enōzu - A friend, teacher, helper and student of Ahirom. He is living with the Tribes of Color after fleeing his occupied homeland. He is something of a guide for the Watergrass Expanse. He is a melancholic individual.
Estaiya - A female hunter from Jorgrim. Elder sister of Sigismund. Courting Rogbart.
Eye of Ader - A divine figure (likely related to the Sedorian God, Ader...?) who was incidentally awakened when Zhao Li Hua visited the Supreme Temple. He negotiated with her to leave.

Farra - An old woman in Jorgrim who suffers from chronic pain. She has a garden where she has crossbred many unique herbs.

Headsman of White Silk Spring - Father of the Lotus Turtle Clan's soon-to-be First Son
Hester Khorum - A member of the 86th Mutiny Squadron. Also called "The Hungry Wolf". He is strong, violent and brutal. He is infamous for his glory-seeking behavior and recklessness.
Hormuz Qhazakh - A nobleman in Abarion who is in charge of much of the trade relating to Hakirrash. He is an unpleasant person who makes life hard for others.

I


Ingrid Oerichs - An Elder of Jorgrim with a horrible personality. Many nasty and dangerous rumors surround her, as well. She seems to have a suspicious relationship with Kuergrin.
Ishrami Aminar - A nine year old child with a terrifying gaze. He has mysterious origins and an unknown mindset. He is a member of the Aminar Gang. Extremely competent, but seemingly not ambitious or eager to show his cards.

J


Jasper Cerus - A commander of Mutiny troops. He is very competent, and hates to lose.
Javī - Brother of Enōzu. Possibly dead.
Jehrar - An aged servant to Hormuz Qhazakh.
Joura - Elder brother of Asherah and the future Sha of Hakirrash. He has been pivotal in making contact with the Credi Islanders.

Kalen Haider - A young Ghanbaran Knight. Once participated in an event with Asherah and two others.
Khan Aminar - A member of the Aminar Gang. He is a vicious and ambitious person. He is loyal to the group, but only because they treat him well. He is twelve years old, but seems much older.
Kiyana - Elder sister of Asherah. She recently had her Union Ceremony.
Knut Asbjorn - An Elder of Jorgrim.
Kolga Hildebrandt - An Elder of Jorgrim. Daughter of Drannik Hildebrandt. She once agreed to train Zhao Li Hua, but the latter died before either could make good on that promise.
Kuergrin - A Kadessian warlord currently living in Jorgrim. He is not on good terms with the Elders.

Laz Aminar - An eleven year old boy with gigantism. A member of the Aminar Gang. He is a bit dull, but also fairly intelligent in some ways.
Leila - A friend of Kavian who works as a maidservant for a nobleman residing in Abarion. She occassionaly helps him tailor his clothes, even though she would be punished severely if caught.
Lin High Chancellor - The lead diplomat and acting regent of the State of Lin
Lionheart - An Elder of Jorgrim.

Mabarak Aminar - A member of the Aminar Gang. He is reckless, thoughtless and emotional. Thirteen years old. Often paired with Amir to counterbalance each other.
Maunao Ha-o-toko - Senior Elder of the Yellow Feather Tribe, which spans the Credi Isles and Hoku Archipelago. Initiated contact between his people and Ghanbar in 412 AV, with help from Joura of Hakirrash.
Minister Cao - Mazan civil official. One of Zhao Li Hua's tutors. A very boring person.
Mourn - Younger sibling of Asherah.

Nahur Sha'Hakir - The Sha (leader) of Hakirrash. He is also the Soul Prince of The Twin Seas. Father of Asherah. He has a deep love for his family, though he pushes his children very hard. Mutually aware of Alvisdan.
Najid Aminar - An eight year old boy who is absolutely beautiful; cherubic. Ruhan brought him to the Aminar Gang after a certain traumatizing incident. Najid is mute and seems to possess some strange qualities.
Nala - Closest friend of Feri. The two split up after Nala's realization that they were in danger. Location and situation are currently unknown.

Old Lao - One of Zhao Li Hua's tutors. A very wise person.
Omid Durzami - Diplomatic Nabob from Ghanbar. He recently introduced Ghanbar and Jorgrim.

Q


Qassar Aminar - A member of the Aminar Gang. He is the abandoned son of a merchant. He provides most of the groups finances through money-lending and some other activities. He is eleven years old.

R


Raba - A miserable wretch living in Kuracos. She was hired to be a tutor to Asherah, but she neglected and mistreated the young woman. She has made an enemy of Joura.
Ragna Whiteblood - An Elder of Jorgrim. He is very young, and he feels out of place.
Rofonnh - The only elder in the Tribes of Color who actively fought in the war against the invaders
Rogbart - Boisterous hunger from Jorgrim. A friend of Sigismund. Courting Estaiya.
Ronogem Uritis - One of the earliest members of the Flotilla (precursor group to the Resistance) who died very early on in the Tribes of Color invasion
Ruhan Aminar - A sworn friend of Kavian Aminar since both were young adolescents. He is very reliable and believes wholeheartedly in Kavian and his ambitions. Fourteen years old. Acts as a leader in absentia for the Aminar Gang.

Safrah Nasem - An alias for a young woman who is part of a terrifying organization. Once participated in an event with Asherah and two others.
Salim Aminar - A new member of the Aminar Gang. He is nine years old and very eager to please this new group.
Samir Rafis - A charming older man. He is a scholar who travels around Ghanbar. He once taught Asherah for a few months.
Sarufin Dyfed - A member of the Yellow Tribe. One of the three leaders of the Resistance during the Tribes of Color invasion. Died a heroic death near the end of the war. The village he defended to his last breath is named after him.
Sarvai Al'Duath - Wife of Erikos Al'Duath. They were married in summer of 84 SU.
Sharid Aminar - A new member of the Aminar Gang. Ten years old.
Sigurd the Ferocious - An Elder of Jorgrim.
Skyborn Rasmos - An Elder of the Pallid Tribe. Supported Ulle when he desired to explore the world beyond the Bleached Coast.
Sulid - Elder of Nyrif. Became a pathetic wreck after the invasion, and stepped down from leadership.

Tamur Aminar - A member of the Aminar Gang. He was born heavily mentally impaired, and has a puppylike loyalty to Ruhan. He is eleven years old.
Tarisha med Nahur - The life partner and Medina of Nahur Sha'Hakir. She is a deeply intelligent woman who cares deeply for her children. Mother of Asherah. She has many mysterious secrets.
Treiya - Mother of Sigismund. A rather violent woman.

Vadrian Regence - A veteran soldier. Currently working as both a drill instructor for Denaster and as a lieutenant of Dormatteo Albas.

Yalik Medi - A merchant's son. Once participated in an event with Asherah and two others.
Yasil Aminar - A member of the Aminar Gang who was blinded in a freak accident. He is ten years old, and is beginning to train as a qhit'al player.

Z


Zhao Fei Shi - Mother of Zhao Li Hua. A swordswoman who died in Pangi Chuyou when her daughter was still young.
Zhao Jiugong - Father of Zhao Li Hua. The lord of Mazan and the Divine General of the State of Fa. Cannot handle alcohol.
Zwei Liu Ryang - The Thunder Sword Emperor, current ruler of The State of Fa, who resides in his palace in the city of Zhulon.
