Hakirrash's largest trading partner is the Kingdom of Ghanbar, with whom they have traded the rare dyes and textiles only their artisans know how to produce since the Wealth King of Ghanbar discovered and made a trade agreement with the leaders of their village.
In short, the village has been shown respect that many hegemons would not have offered. In exchange, they always trade first and foremost with Ghanbar, rather than any of its neighbors. This has turned out to be as mutually amiable an agreement as can be expected, given the power dynamic.
Hakirrash is also one of the few (permanent) villages along the Kalatorian Coast with enough surplus to make occasional attempts to sail the Param Sea, though they have always been aware of the technology. They have been rewarded in their expeditions, as they have made first contact with the indigenous peoples of the Credi Isles, with whom they trade dyes and textiles for valuable spices to use on their own food, or sell back to the Kingdom of Ghanbar for a profit. Very recently (in the Year 412 AV), Hakirrash has begun mediating trade between Ghanbar and the Credi Isles.
Hakirrash is the largest source of pearls across Ghanbar, with several productive oyster farms in accessibly shallow waters.
The current Sha-hakir (village leader) of Hakirrash is Nahur. Currently, he is grooming his firstborn son Joura to become the next village leader. Nahur appears to be a deeply honorable man who seems to possess an unnatural charisma. He is very loving and protective towards his family and people, but also strict and uncompromising when he believes it is necessary.
Architecture
The village of Hakirrash is built on a hill by the shoreline. Most residential construction is atop that hill, with winding garden paths leading down to the coast. The Sha and his family live at the very peak of the hill, while the villagers homes resides on lower tiers/layers of foundations.
The settlement's homes have bases of ashlar sandstone while the rest use mud bricks with clay mortal and wooden frames. The insides are decorated with rugs, tapestries, curtains, stone decorations and comfortable furniture/bedding. Most properties have generously-sized courtyards, which allow villagers to perform certain work outside their homes - such as the smelly task of producing certain dyes.
Buildings in Asherah are rather dimly lit, because any opening for a window, especially on the roof, would be a hazard if and when a storm arrives.
Sea Slug Cave is a small grotto facing the sea. Due to the cold, wet, and saline environment - strange creatures grow there. Children often play there, favoring the wondrous, bioluminescent environmental, despite the dangers of possible illness - as a few tragic cases have shown.
