A thickly forested land filled with cliffs and caves. The lands of Eum Baestyr are home to few humans, being mostly dominated by powerful and mystical beasts!

Humans of these lands have long barely clung to survival. Only through accessing primal energies and submitting to wise beast-kings have they managed to treasure their lives against the superior creatures that rule the land.

The people of Eum Baestyr can have skin, hair and eyes of any color, though the hues tend towards the extremes, especially amongst those who wield Primal Energy. Tattoos are common amongst all ethnic and sociocultural groups in Eum Baestyr, normally to mimic the natural patterns that emerge on the skins as part of wielding Primal Energy.

Within Eum Baestyr, there are not particularly any recognized ethnicities or larger groups. Most people's identities aren't so developed, and their 'people' would be those who raised them, which is normally only a small group. However, if an exonym exists for the people of this region, it would be the 'Baestyrians'.

Geography

The sandy shores of Eum Baestyr are mostly uninhabited. A small assortment of critters do live here, but there are very few intelligent beings.

The coastal lands of the region are a way of referring to the couple of major biomes to the west of Night Terror Gorge. They are all large, stretching many kilometers inland, and are thus not properly 'coastal'.

One of the coastal lands in the area is the legendary Blessed Fruit Forest. Both humans and countless beasts call these lands home. Many of the beasts in these lands have high intelligence, some even matching humans. The foremost feature of these woodlands are the eponymous Blessed Fruits. Blessed Fruits come in a variety of shapes and colors, though most appear similar to fist-sized plums. Consuming the Blessed Fruit is said to grant both power and wisdom.

In the center of the Blessed Fruit Forest, is the mysterious, profoundly sacred and prohibited Sacred Garden Of The White-Gold Divine Grove. It is also called the Divine Garden Platinum Grove, or simply the Sacred Lands. It is both envied and feared for its ability to grow a unique kind of Blessed Fruit, known as the Divine Gift. Divine Gifts are rumored to come in impossible shapes and to glow in a brighter and more beautiful light than the eternal sun above. The moderately-large section of the forest is home to only two beings, and no others are allowed to access it by those inside, on punishment of death.
The inferior of the two beings living there is known as the White Deer Queen, or sometimes just 'Great Doe'. She is said to possess endless grace and intellect on top of her boundless strength and vitality. Despite the two guardians of the Sacred Lands oft being rumored to have lived forever, the most ancient wise beasts from across the Blessed Fruit Forest could speak of a time where the Great Doe had not lived in the garden. This history is on the verge of being forgotten, as countless generations have past, totalling to at least one and a half millennia, but overall an uncertain number of years. The most ancient relics of humans also speak not of her, but only of the other guardian.
This other guardian is known as the Lord Sylvan Stag, or just 'Great Stag'. None know his exact age. Perhaps he is as old as the Sacred Lands themselves, which may be as old as the rest of Eum Baesyr and/or the whole world. Though none have challenged the Great Stag in several generations, the eldest of elders amongst humanity and many of the longer-lived wise beasts reveal that such things have happened in the past. Throughout the years, numerous individuals in the Blessed Fruit Forest have broken the taboo of entering or stealing from the Sacred Lands. It is thought that none have ever maintained their lives afterwards, should the Great Stag become aware and seek to punish them. The power of the Great Stag is not widely spoken of, as no estimates exist. Given the great strength one can acquire from consuming a single Divine Gift, all agree that he must be an immeasurable existence, a living God, as he has fed exclusively on these fruits since longer than any have lived.
Besides his power, the Great Stag is also known for his immense wisdom. All creatures in the Blessed Fruit Forest bow before his words, which have ensured absolute peace and harmony for as long as any remember. Only those who go against his teachings cause harm to themselves and everyone around them. Both the Great Doe and Great Stag are very reclusive, sometimes a dozen winters will go by without so much as a sighting from either of them.

Inland of Eum Baestyr's coast and south of the Blessed Fruit Forest, are the wondrous Spirelands. The Spirelands are an uniquely tiered ecosystem. The lower tier are a vast plains with sparse trees or other vegetation. The upper tier are the eponymous Spires themselves. Many creatures live in the lower tier of the Spirelands, from the Mystic Meerkats to the Hunting Great Rhinos, but arguably the most successful in its niche is the Green Glider Monkey, an omnivorous creature with impressive mobility and cunning alike. In contrast to the meadows below, which are home to a number of beasts - both prey and predator, the Spires above are a vicious land of exclusively predation. The upper tier is comprised of the Midspires along the body of the Spires, and the Highsires on their curved peaks. While the creatures of the Midspires occasionally hunt in the tier below, the creatures in the Highspires rarely even see the ground, being above the clouds themselves. The Midspires are home to several mystical and imposing creatures that can be seen from the meadows below, often acting as symbols of awe, fear, and even worship among the few humans that roam the meadows. Some of these creatures including the Sky Serpents, Rainbow-Chasing Wolves, Winterbringers, Black Terror Birds and Dream-Eater Calamities. Arguably the most notable of them, though, is the simple Screecher. A creature from the lower parts of the Midspires, that often hunts in the meadows, but can also evade those that hunt it with ease. Though it is not known by this name anywhere on Tashaya, the Screecher could also be called a type of Pterodactyl, though one that is highly magical in nature.
Meanwhile, despite all that is known of even the unreachable Midspires, nothing is known of the Highspires. It is rumored across Eum Baestyr, from which it is faintly visible, to be the hunting grounds of ascended men or divine beasts. Even beyond Ut Stirak and Komminak Range, those with extremely sharp eyesight on exceptionally clear-waethered days, might catch glimpses of looming structures beyond either of the mountain ramges... though, it would be an easy mistake to percieve the Highspires as just another peak. Notably, but a single legend exists regarding possible contact with the Highspires. This legend, though it had likely survived in the past amongst humans for hundred of years, is no longer spoken. Instead, a few lost tablets, which explorers or plainly lucky folk may find, have depictions of a clawed talon emerging from the Highspires to grasp and drag away a tyrannical creature, itself partially resembling a massive Black Terror Bird.

Situated properly along the coast, to the point of replacing the standard sands in the southern section of the shores, lies the Fen of Radynor, which has also been historically known as the Deadly Lands of Black Smoke and more coloquially as the Toxic Fen. These lands are currently ruled by Skor Radynor the Vile Toxic King, who is also called Skrothpeon the Wicked, Eum Skrothpeon, Kalapsus, Laire of Kalapsus, Zkolox Helelpmae, Mad Lord of The Bog, Swamp King Skorvup, and Poison-Venom Lord Master. This being's control has been solid for many decades, after he killed or banished all the other powerful creatures in the region. Both in the past, and even moreso now with the contemporary actions of the new ruler, the Fen of Radynor is not very populated, and exceptionally dangerous despite that fact meaning a relative lack in the numbers of powerful predators.

The Noble Blue, is a bay that, though south of the Fen of Radynor, is not geographically considered part of the coastal lands of Eum Baestyr. The main reason for this is that the water of the bay itself is technically off the coast, not part of it. Within these waters reside numerous aquatic beasts, many of which possess intelligence and wisdom. The respected leader amongst the sapient aquatic creatures is a being known as the Proud Shark King, who just decades ago overthrew the Great Shark Lord who had ruled for many years but had become old and weak.

Perhaps the most prominent feature of the Geography is an immense chasm known as Night Terror Gorge. This vast ravine is filled with unnatural darkness that prevents any from peering far into it's depths. The opposite does not remain true however, as terrifying eyes often open up during each night to gaze longingly at the passing moon overhead. It is unknown what resides within. Over the last hundreds of years, an incredibly gradual growth of strange red tendrils have begun to emerge from within the gorge... Few are aware of this, and even fewer as concerned as perhaps they should be.

Another major section of Eum Baestyr, is the inland region. The inlands are to the east of Night Terror Gorge. They have a significantly larger human population than the coastal regions, though humanity is still by far less numerous than the beasts.

The largest biome within the inland of Eum Baestyr is known simply as The Great Forest. It has several powerful beasts who control their own territories, and only some of them possess sapience. Despite this, the majority of the Great Forest is actually unclaimed, with nobody controlling it. The current main territories of the Great Forest are:

South of The Great Forest, are the Happy Flower Fields. This land is whispered of in contrasting rumors, some claim it is a paradise to seek out, while others warn it is a wicked trap for the hopeful. There are three main factors consistent across both versions of the story, the first being the overall peacefulness of the land, the second being a supposed serpent who greets all newcomers with graciousness and gifts and is supposed to be the ruler of the lands, and the third is the abundance of mystical flowers in the lands which emit fantastical aromas. What is the truth? Is this land truly a lovely paradise, or does something darker lurk within?

To the north of the Great Forest lies the Volcanic Lands also known as the Magma Dale or Valley of Fire. It it told that five or maybe six hundred years ago, these lands were an extension of the Great Forest, but when a powerful beast emerged and took the area as his territory, the land changed into a harsh and violent hellscape. The ruler of these lands is known as the Blazing Red King, or the Salamander Lord.

Between the Great Forest and the Volcanic Lands lies a stretch of petrified woodland, known as the Ashen Graywoods. Several wise beasts who once lived in these lands are said to have gone mad and isolated themselves within. Due to many strange rumors and an ominous presence exuding from these lands, most travelers avoid it. This is largely acceptable, as few would be willing to cross between the Great Forest and the Volcanic Lands in the first place.

In the far east of Eum Baestyr lies a massive outcropping of cliffs that are not actually extensions of either the North or South Walls that circle the primal region. Instead, these cliffs are made from the same stone that lies beneath the earth, having undergone a major tectonic shift at some point and broken upwards, becoming a large cliff separating the inlands from upper Eum Baestyr.

These cliffs are known as the Beasthive Cliffs due to both the abundance of insect- and pest-like beasts that live within their semi-exposed tunnels, as well as the hivelike structure of these once-subterranean caves. The Beasthive Cliffs has no ruler, as few intelligent creatures call it home. There are rumors of a dark presence hiding with the core of the cliffs, where the outside light cannot penetrate the tunnel network. This, however, may merely be a myth perpetuated by the deep-seated fear of whatever strange monsters live within Night Terror Gorge.
The top surface of the Beasthive Cliffs are known as the Barren Stomping Grounds, or simply as Umberreach after the currently most powerful beast, the powerful but only somewhat intelligent Umber Lord, who leads a growing feral pack to great success in their hunts.

Besides the minor ecosystem that is the Beasthive Cliffs and Barren Stomping Grounds, upper Eum Baestyr is otherwise comprised of the Great Desert. These inhospitable lands are ruled by the Honorable Desert King who has a strong rivalry with the Blazing Red King and the assorted lords of the Great Forest below. It is thought that the Honorable Desert King allows the existence of Umber Lord, and has even supported their growth.

Stretching along the mountain north of all of Eum Baestyr is the massive but frigid and sparsely populated Grand Northern Frost. The region has become much colder over the last several centuries, and this is attributed to the appearance of a powerful flying beast lord, known as either the Grand Frost Lord, or the Winter Wyrm, depending on which rumors you believe.
A notable feature of the Grand Northern Frost, is despite being immensely harsh and difficult terrain with very little ecosystem to sustain oneself on, it's less-frozen edges are actually moderately popular land for travelers and wanderers, as careful navigation can allow one to cross much of Eum Baestyr, reaching almost anywhere with proper directions and a fair amount of good luck.

Though these are all of the largest and most notable features of Eum Baestyr's physical and territorial geography, there are a handful of other areas that exist in isolation but are nonetheless particularly notable. These are:
