Pirates
Sub Groups
- The Marauders: A band of primarily raiders. It is made up of a handful of ships - the number fluctuates based on how successful they've been lately. The core of the group are the remainders of a military from a world that was destroyed by the Empire. The world was heavily patriarchal and socially conservative and the Marauders are the blackest of the black among outlaws near the Nexus. They are slavers, arms dealers, plunderers. The worst. (Not for PCs, can be former members, but not as a bad guy)
- The Black Charlatan: A ship crewed by a band of pirates and sometimes-mercenaries, captained by the ruthless and charismatic Hajdu Gyula. Hajda has captained the charlatan for decades and is said to be a highly cunning cypher. The crew of the Charlatan are said to be respectful and even polite in the face of cooperation when they have boarded a ship, but the faintest whiff of resistance is met with cruel brutality.
- The Celestial Daggers had earned a fearsome reputation among the people. Tales of their exploits spread like wildfire, and the rumors about them only grew more outrageous with each telling. Some said they had magical powers, or conducted secret rituals of some kind; others said they had no honor, and would not hesitate to turn on their own.
But one thing was certain: the Celestial Daggers fought with brutal efficiency, never hesitating to risk their own lives in service of their mysterious mission. They smuggled weapons and supplies across systems, and struck terror into anyone who crossed their path. Even the most powerful of pirate fleets gave them a wide berth, wary of the consequences of a confrontation.
Their leader, a figure shrouded in mystery and legend, was known simply as "the Captain". Rumor had it that he had once been a great military commander, leading a lost cause against a much greater enemy. But now he was a shadow, a ghost drifting through the stars and fighting for those who could not fight for themselves.
No one knew where the Celestial Daggers had come from, or why they chose to fight for their cause. But wherever they went, they were respected, feared, and often envied. To many, they were an inspiration, a reminder that an individual can make a difference, no matter how powerful the odds may be.
