POTION OF MISTY ESCAPE
Wondrous Item (Potion)
This potion is a delicate, pearlescent amber liquid that shimmers with a soft, silvery glow. It smells faintly of mist, cool and clean, like a fog over a quiet lake at dawn. The surface of the potion ripples slowly, as though it were caught in an eternal breeze.
When broken, a thick, obscuring fog that fills a 20-foot radius sphere centered at the point of breaking. The fog spreads around corners, and its area is heavily obscured, making it difficult for creatures to see through it.
- Obscured Vision: Any creature within the cloud is heavily obscured, meaning they cannot see anything outside of the cloud, and creatures outside the cloud cannot see through it either. The fog reduces vision to just a few feet, making it impossible to clearly target any creature within the cloud unless they are right next to you.
- Area of Effect: The cloud can be positioned anywhere within 120 feet of you, and it will fill an area in a 20-foot radius sphere. The cloud is stationary once created but can be blown away by strong winds (such as from a Gust of Wind spell or natural wind). If there is no wind, the cloud will persist for the duration of the spell, or until it is dispersed by other means.
- Interaction with Spells: The fog is not harmful to creatures, but it can interfere with certain spells that rely on sight. For instance, Fireball would be significantly less effective if the target is inside the fog because the area of effect would be obscured. Likewise, creatures with blindsight or those relying on other senses might still be able to function within the cloud.
