The Pole of Vaulting is a brass gilded wooden rod eighteen inches long when closed. A command word ("Cuive"  - Awaken in Elvish) will cause it to extend and retract, as needed. It extends in two tenths of a second from both ends into a ten foot pole, and will retract just as swiftly. If an object or target is within 5' of either end of the pole when it extends, the pole will do 1d6+1 damage with 1d4 feet knockback on a successful hit. Extending the pole will not lift objects vertically.
