The Visionary
Visionaries look for answers where others fear to tread. Others may see their solutions as strange, convoluted, or brilliant. They simply don’t recognize any other way.
Prime Stat
O Brawn. Gain one Physical focus at the Trained level or increase one to Mastered.
O Charm. Gain one Social focus at the Trained level or increase one to Mastered.
O Psyche. Gain any one focus at the Trained level or increase one to Mastered.
O Smarts. Gain one Knowledge focus at the Trained level or increase one to Mastered.
O Wyrd. Gain one Magical focus at the Trained level or increase one to Mastered.
Basic Visionary Talent
See Beyond - Once per session when making a choice related to the character’s Prime Stat, predict a result to the GM. If ze agrees, it happens. If ze refuses, regain one point of Luck.
Your prognostication can be farfetched, but it must rely on established elements within the session. If the GM and other players agree you’re misusing this ability, they can void your use of it.
Visionary Talents
O Applied Science - Whenever you lack training in a Focus but are Trained in an academic Focus that relates to the task, you count as Trained in it.
O Blessed Contraption - Take 15 minutes and make a General Check with your Prime Stat to craft a fantastic machine tied to one Focus in which you’re Trained. Explain how the machine works, even if it’s ridiculous. For the duration of the scene, using this machine gives you Advantage on any check involving the Focus.
O Conditional Caster - Any time you cast an area spell, exclude any targets you choose within the affected region. Also, you can apply the Trigger Form to a spell without having to graft it.
O Cult of Reason - If you explain your theories for a few minutes to one or more people, make a General Check with your Prime Stat. On success, they will help you for the rest of the scene, as long as there’s no danger to them. If you make full success, they may become groupies and follow you around.
OOO Followers - An NPC follows and trusts you enough to go into danger for you. Ze may follow you for duty, curiosity, or a hefty retainer, but ze sticks with you in trouble. Take this more than once to gain extra followers.
O Peculiar Insight - Once during social combat, exploit a deep insight about your opponent’s nature or personality. You deal +1 Trauma. However, your opponent and anyone watching may dislike and/or fear you.
O Strange Luck - Spend a Luck Point to attempt a stunt that relies entirely on the actions of others or on random chance, rather than your own effort. The check takes no Stat nor modifiers. Also, since you’re using Luck, you can’t spend another point to make the stunt succeed.
O Studied Attempt - If you have a chance to study a book or talk to an expert about a task for fifteen minutes before you attempt it, gain Advantage on the check.
O Unexpected Tactic - Before you make any physical combat check with a weapon, declare an Unexpected Tactic. The attack gains one quality of your choice, but its base damage (if higher) is reduced to 1 Wound. However, if you fail the check, the weapon breaks.
O Wondrous Summons - Any time you summon a creature, add any magical features or abilities you like that it doesn’t normally possess.
