MAGIC

The mysterious force known as magic has gone by many names: Arcanum, Aether, Conjuration, Devilry, Divination, Enchantment, Miracles, Mysteria, Necromancy, Sorcery, Spellcraft, Thaumaturgy, Witchcraft, Wizardry, etc. Ultimately, all the versions of this force are simply "magic". Magic does not follow the same laws of physics as science does but it does have its own rules and principles. Difficult to understand due to our 3rd-dimensional nature, magic can still be wielded by mortals to some degree. Though modern science once dismissed magic's existence, the re-appearance of magic with the rise of mutants has made it something that cannot be ignored.

Most scientists refer to magic as "psychic energy" or "psychic abilities", wanting to avoid archaic terms and religious implications, but for those who are well-practiced in the art, it is simply "magic".

All superhuman abilities must be biotic, low-tech, hi-tech, luck, or magic-based and cannot simply be talent.
