Action 1
Target Everyone you're currently socializing with during a conversation
Check Charisma (Deception) vs. Wisdom (Insight) DC
Effect You tell a lie attempting to convince others.
- Critical Success: Target believes the lie so long as they do not have any evidence to the contrary.
- Success: Target believes you believe the lie you told, so long as they do not have any evidence to the contrary.
- Failure: Target becomes wary of you, gaining advantage on Wisdom (Insight) checks against you for the remainder of the scene.
- Critical Failure: As a failure, plus the target knows you were lying.
Note You shouldn't need to make a plethora of checks for every small deception, only significant ones that would alter a character's behavior or allegiance in a way that is significant to the current scene or overall narrative. This is generally up to the GM's discretion.
