Factions

Games often have different factions characters can join. Joining a faction functions as an influence over that whole faction. Unlike normal influences, factions have competing interests with other factions, and being affiliated with competing factions must be kept secret or it will lead to one or both factions turning on the character and thus they'll not only lose their influence on both but also accumulate enemies in the process.

The benefit of joining a faction is that unlike other influences, a character automatically gains an exploit every time they gain an influence level in a faction up to a maximum number of exploits from factions equal to their own character level. Different factions grant different exploits. If you're aligned with multiple factions, you can activate and suppress faction exploits as an action up to a maximum number of total exploits from factions equal to your level.

Mindspace Corporation	Largest multimedia corporation
Mystic Eye	Workers union for mages and mystics
Pylon Corporation	Largest software and robotics development and manufacturing company

Synth Syndicate	An android rights activist group
United Nations of Terra	The planetary government of Terra
Venusian Confederacy	The loose confederacy that serves as government of Venus
