Cost: 1 XP/tier
Selection: Select one type of innate weapon such as bite, claw, gore, etc.
Creatures with this trait have an innate weapon that functions similarly to a simple weapon. Some examples are listed below.
- Bite: Bite attacks dealing 1d4 piercing damage. It's considered a light weapon and uses their mouth and head instead of hand and arms.
Claw: Claw attacks dealing 1d4 slashing damage. It's considered a light weapon and uses hand and arms.
Gore: Gore attacks dealing 1d6 piercing damage. It's considered a light weapon and uses the creature's head instead of hand and arms.
Slam: Slam attacks dealing 1d6 bludgeoning damage. It's considered a light weapon and uses hand and arms.
Sting: Sting attacks dealing 1d4 piercing damage. It's considered a light weapon and uses the creature's tail instead of hand and arms.
Tier 2 The weapon is treated as masterwork and magical for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction.
Tier 3+ Each additional tier grants this weapon a benefit as per a +1 weapon property up to a maximum total number of bonuses equal to half the monster's hit dice though the actual weapon property bonus itself cannot exceed +5.
Additional Weapons Each time this is upgrade is added, the creature gains an additional innate weapon that benefits from all the tier increases of this ability.
