SCHOOLS
Powers are now split into 10 schools:
- Abjuration is the direct manipulation of magic itself allowing the user to understand magic in greater detail than other casters and resist, dispel, and even hijack other magical powers. All spells that specifically target magic and other spells (such as Anti-magic Field, Arcane Sight, Detect Magic, Dispel Magic, and Read Magic) change their school to Abjuration. All other Abjuration spells change their school to something else that is more appropriate.
- Biomancy is the direct manipulation of life forces and positive energies, allowing the caster to buff, heal, and even transform creatures. All [healing], [morph], and [polymorph] spells, spells that deal positive energy damage, and Transmutation spells that buff creatures directly through internal forces (such as Bull's Strength and Ant Haul) change their school to Biomancy.
- Chronomancy is the direct manipulation of time, allowing the caster to see the future, slow or hasten time, or even stop or travel through time. All spells that adjust how time works (such as Haste, Slow, and Time Stop) change their school to Chronomancy.
- Conjuration is the direct manipulation of space, allowing the caster to bend and stretch space and even traverse incredible distances instantly. [Calling], [creation], and [summoning] spells that create, manipulate, or summon creatures change their school to Biomancy if they affect living creatures, Illusion if they affect spirits (such as Fey, Outsiders, and incorporeal creatures that are not undead), Necromancy if they affect undead, or Transmutation if they affect constructs or objects.
- Divination is the direct manipulation of fate, allowing the caster to foresee the threads of fate and warp luck and winds of change and chance. All spells that add luck or insight bonuses or penalties change their school to Divination. Divination spells that grant special senses (such as Darkvision) can also be emulated by other schools based on what's appropriate for the school. For example, Detect Undead could be Necromancy and Scent could be Biomancy.
- Enchantment is the direct manipulation of minds, allowing the caster to read and control minds. Enchantment is the manipulation of minds. All [charm], [compulsion], [confusion], [emotion], [mind-affecting], and [fear] effects change their school to Enchantment unless they specifically only affect living creatures, only affect undead, or only affect spirits/unconscious creatures, in which case they change to Biomancy, Necromancy, or remain Illusion, respectively.
- Evocation is the direct manipulation of energy, allowing the caster to create and control temperature, magnetism, radio waves, and other forces.
- Illusion is the direct manipulation of spiritual essence from the Shadow Plane, allowing the caster to create and manipulate false realities. Illusions are the manipulation of essence, perception, quantum awareness, and the shadow realm. All [summoning] spells that aren't changed to Biomancy, Necromancy, or Transmutation change their school to Illusion.
- Necromancy is the manipulation of the forces of death, entropy, and negative energy. All [healing] spells that deal negative energy damage and both [healing] and Transmutation spells that buff or manipulate undead but don't deal positive energy damage change their school to Necromancy.
- Transmutation is the direct manipulation of matter, allowing the caster to create, manipulate, and destroy matter on a molecular level.
