Transformation
(Biomancy, Illusion, or Transmutation), Polymorph, Trickery
Selection: Select one creature of equal size, one size larger, or one size smaller (maximum size 5, minimum size 4) than you but the same shape and life form.
Activation: 2 actions (Standard)
Target: Self; Can only affect Organisms if Biomancy, Spirits if Illusion, or Synthoids if Transmutation
Rolls: Fortitude negates
Duration: 10 minutes
The subject's physical body is altered to resemble the selected creature. This is primarily a tactile and visual change. While transformed, the subject gains a +2 innate (racial) bonus on disguise rolls to appear as a creature of the assumed species.
For the duration, the subject also gains a number of tier's worth of non-magical innate abilities possessed by the mimicked creature equal to [Tier x 2].
Examples include abilities such as bite attacks, claw attacks, low-light vision, darkvision, scent, swim speed, or similar minor physiological traits, subject to GM approval.
- The GM determines the tier value of unusual innate abilities.
- No attribute adjustments, powers, or other complex innate abilities are gained unless they qualify as innate traits within the tier budget.
- Equipment does not transform with the subject, falling off into their space if not suitable to the new form.
BALEFUL (+1):
Target must be Creature in Melee range and must be able to transform target into mindless or bestial creature. The effect also requires Will save. Failed will save means their mind becomes mindless or bestial as the form they're transformed into.
ENLARGE (+1):
The size increase can be up to three sizes larger and the maximum size increases to size 6. This can be applied multiple times adjusting the size change by two each time and maximum size by 1 each time.
IMPERSONATE (+1):
Your transformation magic becomes precise enough to mimic specific individuals. If you don't have Multiform, there's only one other individual you can mimic, likely a relative or ancestor. If you do have multiform, you may attempt to impersonate any other particular creature you've seen, provided the assumed form is physically compatible (ex. same size and shape). This increases the Disguise bonus by 2.
LIFE SHIFT (+1):
The alternate form can be of a different life form. If you have multiform, it can be any life form but otherwise must be of one specific life form.
MULTIFORM (+1):
Instead of selecting a single alternate form, you may assume the form of any form of the type listed. When casting this, you designate one alternate form you can assume. Each form is still a distinct personal variant unique to you, rather than an exact copy of an existing individual. The Disguise bonus increases by 2.
OLFACTORY MIMICRY (+1):
The disguise perfectly mimics the odors of creatures it resembles, increasing the Disguise bonus by 2 and fooling most olfactory-based senses.
OUTFIT ABSORBING (+1)
The transformation absorbs gear the subject is wearing into the new form if not suitable to be worn by the new form. The subject maintains the benefits of wearing such gear for the duration such as magical bonuses or effects. Alternatively, it can reshape gear to suit the new form but doing this adds the Transmutation type to the power. Gear affected by this change that falls off reverts to its original shape 1d4+1 rounds after being removed.
OUTFIT MORPHING (+1)
Your transformation can alter the appearance of worn clothing and gear. These items change cosmetically only (color, cut, style, apparent materials), but their statistics and functionality remain unchanged. This increases the Disguise bonus by 2. It also grants a separate +2 innate (racial) bonus to Diplomacy, Bluff, Handle Animal, Intimidate, and Perform but only when interacting with those who failed to see through the disguise. This doesn't allow gear that isn't suitable to the new form to remain on.
POLYMORPHIC (+1):
Select an additional creature type you can transform into each time you apply this upgrade. You know only one version of each creature type unless you have Multiform.
SHAPESHIFT (+1):
The alternate form can be of a different shape. If you have multiform, it can be any shape but otherwise must be of one specific shape.
SHRINK (+1):
The size decrease can be up to three sizes smaller and the minimum size decreases to size 3. This can be applied multiple times adjusting the size change by two each time and maximum size by 1 each time.
TELL (-1):
Despite shapeshifting, you always have a tell that reveals your true nature such as slanted eyes, tail, claw-like fingernails, or fur instead of hair. Before rolling Insight or Perception against your disguise DC, onlookers can roll a Lore check against your true form's DC (either by creature type or personal reputation). If they succeed, they notice the tell and automatically see through your disguise. If they fail, they can roll against your disguise normally.
VOCAL MIMICRY (+1):
The disguise perfectly mimics the sounds and voices of creatures it resembles, increasing the Disguise bonus by 2 and fooling most auditory-based senses.
