Tools
There are a lot of items in the game, but to simplify adventures, most items have been consolidated into tool kits. Each toolkit is assigned to a specific profession or skill such as a medical kit being assigned to "Heal" or a handbook being assigned to a Lore skill or tool kit being assigned to a Craft or Profession skill or even a Perform skill.
Examples:
Advanced Barbarian Kit: Contains a whetstone, chalk, survival knife, rope, grappling hook, bedroll, and other basic camping supplies.
Mobile Alchemist Station: Contains chalk, empty formula books, ink well, ink pen, and other writing supplies and alchemical items.
Mobile Wizard Station: Contains chalk, empty spellbooks, ink well, ink pen, and other writing supplies and cheap scrolls.
Basic Toolkit
Each kit includes all the day-to-day tools of the trade. The kit itself is a box or duffel bag can include any item costing 5 gp or less and weighing 1 pound or less that is normally associated with the class or profession. It can be used only 25 times before it's expended.
Whenever you need an item that fits these parameters, you simply reach into the kit and pull it out if it's appropriate for the profession. If the item's appropriateness for your profession is questionable, the GM can impose a 50% chance it's not in the kit when you do this. Ultimately, a GM decides if an item is appropriate, questionable, or inappropriate.
Advanced Toolkit
An advanced kit functions the same way but 15 gp and 3 lbs. and it grants you the benefits of a Masterwork tool. It has 50 charges instead of 25.
Mobile Station
A mobile station functions as an advanced kit but 50 gp and 10 lbs. You can spend 10 minutes setting up a mobile station allowing up to 4 people to use it at once. Each person uses a charge, but it has 100 charges.
Magic Box
A magic box functions as a mobile station and a bag of holding type I as well as a mobile station with unlimited uses. It doesn't require 10 minutes to set up if an item is being withdrawn, only if used for a group project or other projects that require time.
Instant Tool
And instant tool allows you to perform any unopposed skill check (not targeting an unwilling creature) that would normally take more than one round but less than 10 minutes to do as a standard action. It also allows you to do any activity that would normally take 10 minutes or longer in half the time. This only applies to activities the toolkit is normally associated with such as starting a fire with a camping kit or cooking kit but not attempting to do so with a writing kit or performer's kit.
Bandoleer
Bandoleers are kits that contain only 10 uses instead of 25. However, they weigh one-third as much and are worn as a belt or bandoleer, allowing you to draw items out of it as quickly as unsheathing a weapon. Once per round, you can pull an item out of it as a swift action. If you store weapons in there, Quickdraw can apply. A magic box turned into a bandoleer does not adjust its weight. A bandoleer consumes a worn item slot.
Custom Rig
A custom rig is a toolkit that has been customized with supplies. You can invest any amount of gp value into a custom rig. Doing so allows you to pull more expensive versions of items out of the toolkit, such as magical scrolls, potions, oils, charms, tokens, talismans, and other wondrous items that may be affiliated with the toolkit's purpose. Each time you attempt to pull such an item out of the kit, a success reduces that item's cost from the rig's total and grants you that item in your hand at the time. As these more advanced items are rare, there's only a 75% chance they'll be in the bag if they're appropriate for the task and 25% if questionable (instead of 50%).
