Slots

A typical humanoid character has only 12 slots for equipment:
  1. Head
  2. Face
  3. Shoulders
  4. Torso
  5. Hands
  6. Waist
  7. Legs
  8. Accessory 1
  9. Accessory 2
  10. Accessory 3
  11. Wield 1
  12. Wield 2

HEAD
Head items include caps, circlets, crowns, hats, helmets, and other headgear.

WAIST
Waist items include codpieces, belts, girdles, overall straps, and any special items worn over the waist or groin areas.

LEGS
Leg items include boots, greaves, sandals, shoes, and other footwear.

ACCESSORIES
Accessories include amulets, bracelets, bracers, earrings, necklaces, nose rings, rings, and other types of worn accessories. Though a character can wear any number of such items, they can only effectively keep track of 3 special ones that are particularly useful. Accessories can be placed pretty much anywhere obvious and visible on the body. Hidden accessories cannot be activated until made obvious or visible.

WIELD
Most humanoid creatures have two hands, each capable of holding a light or medium item to use or together being used to wield a medium or heavy item. Whatever is in your hands is consuming your "wield" slot for that hand. Creatures with more than two hands can hold more items, but they still have to use actions to activate a wielded items and do not get more actions for having more hands. Intelligent creatures without hands may still be able to activate wielded items by using other appendages to speak magic words, push buttons, or pull triggers, but doing so requires them to use two limbs instead of one or use their mouth and a limb to recreate the benefit of only one hand.

SLOTLESS
Slotless items can be wielded like a shield, tool, or weapon or they can take up an item slot, but they are nonfunctional until they are put into a slot or wielded location.
