Selection, Skill Feats
Cost: 2 XP/tier
Selection: When you select this feat, choose two adventuring skills, or one adventuring skill and two background skills, or up to four background skills. You also choose the circumstances in which you are particularly adept with those skills (e.g., urban environments, wilderness exploration, social intrigue, dungeon exploration, sea travel, interacting with nobles, etc.).
You gain a +2 competence bonus on checks with these skills under the chosen circumstances.
If the circumstances are rare or exceptional, the bonus increases to +3.
If the circumstances are common or routine, the bonus is reduced to +1.
The GM determines the rarity or commonness of circumstances for each skill check.
Upgrade: At each tier you can increase the bonus by 1/2/3 respectively.
Example Uses:
+2 on Craft (Metallurgy), Craft (Stonemasonry), Lore (Appraisal), Profession (Blacksmith) checks when working with dwarves or dwarven-craft items.
+2 on Diplomacy and Bluff checks when negotiating in courts or noble houses.
+2 on Perception and Survival checks while exploring underground ruins.
+2 on Lore (Arcana), Lore (Planes), and Spellcraft while researching arcane mysteries.
+2 on Lore (Appraisal), Profession (Fencer), and Sleight of Hand and checks when working with stolen items or stealing an item.
