RUGGED MAGE
This archetype can be applied to the battle mage and war mage classes.
Requirements: Wis-based or Primal casting.
Losses:
- Appraise, Bluff, Knowledge (History), and Sense Motive class skills.
- 4th, 8th, 12th, 16th, and 20th level augments.
Gains:
- Perception, Handle Animal, Knowledge (Nature), and Survival class skills.
- At 4th, 8thth, 12th, 16th, and 20th level, you must select Wild Empathy, Track, Favored Enemy, Favored Terrain (Requires Endurance), Endurance, Woodland Stride (Requires Track), Swift Tracker (Requires Track), Evasion, Quarry (Requires Track and Favored Enemy), Camouflage, Improved Evasion (Requires Evasion), Hide In Plain Sight (Requires Camouflage), or a Improved Quarry (Requires Quarry) in place of an augment but no sooner than the level a ranger normally gains them. You can use your other augments to gain more of these abilities as well. Your effective ranger level for these purposes is twice the number of these abilities you already possess or your class level, whichever is lower.
- You can use an augment to gain Animal Companion as a druid of the same level -3. You can invest a second augment to increase this to the same level.
- You can gain Master Hunter as an alternate capstone if you have the Track, Favored Enemy, Woodland Strike, Quarry, and Improved Quarry.
