Planar Immortality

Innate, Planar

Cost: 4 XP/tier

Prerequisites: Spirit lifeform; at least 1 Weakness or Vulnerability.

Creatures with this trait have Plane Shift as a tier 1 innate power but can only use it to travel between two particular planes, usually their home plane and the material plane. If killed by means other than their weakness or vulnerability while they are also not trapped in, bound by, or surrounded by their weakness or vulnerability, they are ressurected on their home plane 1d20 x level years later as if by a tier 1 Resurrection power with the resurrection upgrade (tier 2 total). Unlike the normal power, the resurrection sickness does not go away until they consume an amount of materials costing the same amount as the components needed to cast the effect they were revived by. If slain again before completing this task, the cost accumulates, as does the penalty.

Unless noted otherwise, souls not native to the material plane return to their plane of origin and reincarnate, usually regaining memories over a long period of time if ever.

Tier 2: Plane Shift gains Reliable upgrade twice and Resurrection gains it once.
Tier 3: Plane Shift gains Reliable upgrade once and Resurrection gains it twice.
Tier 4: Both powers gain +1 tier and the resurrection delay decreases to 1d20 x level months.
Tier 5: Both powers gain +1 tier and the resurrection delay decreases to 1d20 x level weeks.
Tier 6: Both powers gain +1 tier and the resurrection delay decreases to 1d20 x level days.
Tier 7: Both powers gain +1 tier and the resurrection delay decreases to 1d4 x 1/2 level days.
Tier 8: Both powers gain +1 tier and the resurrection delay decreases to 1d4+1 days.
