Examine
Types Basic, Concentration, Secret
Requirement Declare a particular thing that you're trying to discover, find, learn, or remember about the target
Activation 1 action
Target 1 creature, object, 5-foot space, or phenomena within Sensory range
Rolls Appropriate skill for analysis vs. DC based on GM discretion (see below)
Critical Success As a success but the bonus increases by 1 for every 5 points you beat the DC and the information is 100% accurate.
Success You gain a +1 competence (insight) bonus to attack rolls, saving throws, and skill checks made against the target for 1 round and learn 1 relevant piece of information about them that is at roughly 80% accurate. If the information is a numerical value, flip a coin to determine over or under then roll 1d20 to determine the % off you are.
Critical Failure The GM rolls 1d20 and fabricates a useful piece of information about the target that is false but presents it to you as if it were true. You also gain the normal +1 bonus a Success would provide, but secretly, the GM applies a -2 penalty to those rolls. This penalty worsens by 1 for every 5 points you failed.
Sense Motive: You can discern a target's current emotions or their attitude towards a specific topic being discussed. You must socialize with the target for at least 10 minutes before you can make this attempt. You make a Wisdom (Insight) roll against their Charisma DC or Deception DC, whichever is greater.
Search: You can try to find something hidden within a small space or on a target's person. You make a Wisdom (Perception) roll against the Dexterity or Stealth DC of whatever is hidden to discover it's location.
