Rank 2: The durations increase to 10 minutes (save once per minute) on a failed save and 2 hours (save once per 10 minutes) on a critically failed save.

Rank 3: The durations increase to 2 hours (save once per 10 minutes) on a failed save and 24 hours (save once per 2 hours) on a critically failed save.

Rank 4: The durations increase to 24 hours (save once per 2 hours) on a failed save and 1 week (save once per 24 hours) on a critically failed save.

Rank 5: The durations increase to 1 week (save once per 24 hours) on a failed save and 1 month (save once per week) on a critically failed save.

Rank 6: The durations increase to 1 month (save once per week) on a failed save and permanent (save once per month) on a critically failed save.

Rank 7: The durations increase to 1 year (save once per month) on a failed save and permanent (cannot make save to end) on a critically failed save.

Burst (+1): To apply this upgrade, the target must not be an area effect. Change the target to all applicable targets within a 5-foot diameter burst within range. For example, if the initial target were "1 living creature within Close range" it would now be "all living creatures within a 5-foot diameter burst within Close range". Each time this is added after the first time, it doubles this area rounding up to increments of 10 or 25, whichever is closer: 10-foot burst the second time, 25-foot burst the third time, 50-foot burst the fourth time, 100-foot burst the fifth time, etc.

Enlarge (+1): The range increases from Melee to Close. This can be stacked to increase Close to Medium or Medium to Long.

Greater Confusion (+1): The target is unable to control their first action every round and rolls a d% to determine what they will do:
1-25: Attack themselves dealing 1d4 + this spell's rank + their own Strength modifier damage to themselves using whatever weapon they're armed with.
26-50: Do nothing but babble incoherently.
51-75: Move towards the nearest perceived enemy as much as possible.
76-100: Attack the nearest perceived enemy. If unable to attack, they're move and/or draw weapons to get into an attack position to do so first.
This upgrade can be added up to three times. The second time it is added, this effects their first two actions and they become unable to take reactions or free actions outside of their turn. The third time this is added it also applies to all of their actions during their turn and they become unable to take reactions or free actions at all.

Stubborn Spell (+1): A successful saving throw (but not critically successful) functions as a failure but only 1 round. This can only be applied if the spell is already rank 2 or greater.
Mass (+1): To apply this upgrade, the range must be Close or greater the target must not be an area effect. Applying this upgrade increases the maximum number of targets to half the total spell rank each time this is applied (minimum +1 target per time this is applied). This is cumulative each time it is added. For example, applying this upgrade four times increases the maximum number of targets to double the total spell rank.
