Blindsense
Selection, Sensory
Cost: 2 XP/tier
Selection Select a type of sense that doesn't use sight such as aquatic sense, echolocation, scent, or tremorsense. Every form of blindsense functions in a non-visual way and has some weaknesses and quirks as noted below.
Aquatic Sense: You can detect creatures within the same body of water you occupy while swimming but detect creatures outside the water at half the normal range.
Echolocation: You detect creatures by sound. A creature that holds its breath, remains still, and doesn't make noise is no longer affected by this sense starting 1 round after doing so. If they move more than one space, breath, or otherwise make a noise, they become subject to the blindsense again.
Scent: You detect creatures by scent. The presence of an overpowering odor (such as a Troglodyte's Stench) can disable this blindsense. Being covered in a powerful odor can also sometimes fool this scent (such as being covered in the same perfume that makes you smell exactly like the bed of flowers you're sneaking through).
Tremorsense: A creature with tremorsense is sensitive to vibrations in the ground and are able to detect creatures moving on the same surface. Flying, gliding, or levitating creatures are detected at only half the normal range.
While within 2 spaces (10 feet) per tier of you, all creatures and objects are denied all circumstance, item, and magical bonuses to Stealth against your Perception rolls and DCs. This does not negate penalties nor deny them these bonuses against other creature's Perception rolls and DCs.
Blindsight (+1): Your blindsense is a precise sense but only out to half its normal range. This means a creature with blindsense (scent) can recognize individual creatures' scents as easily as humans recognize each other's faces, a creature with blindsense (tremorsense) can pinpoint a creature's exact location as easily a humans would see someone standing right in front of them, and so on and so forth.
Keen Search (+1): When you use the Search action, the range of your blindsense is doubled for 1 round.
Extra Selection (+1): Make one additional selection. The upgraded ability also applies to the new selection as well as your previous one. This upgrade can be applied multiple times, up to the maximum number of selection options.
