Avalon

Avalon is a hidden jewel at the heart of Albion, an island set within the largest lake of the land, where mist and still waters guard a place steeped in quiet magic. Though Albion itself is vast and river-laced, all roads of legend seem to lead—knowingly or not—toward this sacred center. The waters of the lake are fed and drained by the Avon River, which winds through hills and even beneath the land itself, vanishing under mountainsides and reemerging elsewhere, making passage by water treacherous and uncertain.

The island of Avalon is said to exist slightly apart from the world, where time softens and the air carries a sense of peace, memory, and enchantment. It is a place of healing, reflection, and ancient power, where the boundary between life, death, and legend grows thin.

Overlooking the surrounding lands is Cadbury Castle, an ancient hill fort rising above Arthur’s Well, whose waters are believed to hold lingering blessings. At its summit lies Arthur’s Palace, a place of old royalty and summer refuge, still whispered to be touched by the presence of kings long passed.

Nearby stands Glastonbury Abbey, a humble yet enduring settlement of monks who tend to the spiritual and worldly needs of the region, preserving knowledge and offering sanctuary to travelers drawn by Avalon’s quiet call. Not far beyond, Mount Etna rises in solemn beauty, its slopes serving as the resting place of Albion’s former kings, watching eternally over the sacred lake.

Together, these places form a landscape of reverence and legend, where history and myth entwine—and where Avalon remains, ever just beyond full understanding.
