Analyze
Basic, Concentration, Secret
Requirements: Declare a particular thing that you're trying to discover, find, learn, or remember about the target
Activation: 1 action (Move action)
Target: 1 creature, object, space (5-foot), or phenomena within Sensory range
Rolls: Appropriate skill for analysis vs. DC based on GM discretion (see below)
Critical Success: As a success but the bonus increases by 1 for every 5 points you beat the DC and the information is 100% accurate.
Success: You gain a +1 competence (insight) bonus to attack and opposed skill rolls and saving throws against the target which drops by 1 every round until it is gone at +0. You also learn 1 relevant piece of information about it that is mostly accurate. If the information is a numerical value, the GM rolls 1d100+50 flat check in secret to determine what your estimate of the number is, being anywhere from 51% to 150%, rounding appropriately.
Critical Failure: The GM rolls as if you'd gotten a success and fabricates a useful piece of information about the target that is false but presents it to you as if it were true. You also gain the normal +1 bonus a Success would provide, but secretly, the GM applies a -2 penalty to those rolls. This penalty worsens by 1 for every 5 points you failed. If a character realizes the information they have is false, this penalty ends immediately.
EXAMPLE USES
Recall: You can try to recall information about something using a Lore skill.
Sense Motive: You can discern a target's current emotions or their attitude towards a specific topic being discussed. You must socialize with the target for at least 10 minutes before you can make this attempt. You make a Wisdom (Insight) roll against their Charisma DC or Deception DC, whichever is greater.
Search: You can try to find something hidden within a small space or on a target's person. You make a Wisdom (Perception) roll against the Dexterity or Stealth DC of whatever is hidden to discover it's location.
