Abyssal
Abyssal entities are creatures, objects, or phenomena native to the Abyss, a void-like plane in which the eldest demons reside. The plane itself is imbued with chaos manipulating space and time itself in nefarious ways. Planar scholars surmise it may be where many great old ones and outer gods originate from.
Abyssal (Creature): Creatures with this type are adapted to the Abyss, suffering no particular planar hindrances. They are native to the Abyss, and, if slain, their soul returns to the Abyss by default unless noted otherwise.
Abyssal (Item): Items with this type are imbued with Abyssal entity. Anyone carrying or in physical contact with them suffers the same planar penalties as if on the plane of the Abyss. If the item is used as a weapon, treat it's attacks as both Chaotic, Evil, and Magic.
Abyss (Plane): Creatures that do not have the Chaotic or Evil subtypes suffer 1d6 points of unavoidable irresistible mental damage every minute they remain on this plane. This damage increases to by 1 additional die for each of the following things that are true for a creature (max 1d12):
- Creature is Lawful
- Creature is Good
- Creature is not Evil
- Creature is not Chaotic
Damage dealt by a plane is treated as mythic and death in the Abyss is treated as death by an artifact with a tier equal to infinity. Souls trapped in soul stones or petrified are immune to this damage so long as they remain trapped this way. Every time a creature suffers damage from this plane they must make a Will save DC10 + 1 per interval they've been on the plane or their alignment moves one step closer to Chaotic Evil, lasting for as long a they remain on the plane and 1 day after leaving. If already Chaotic Evil, failing this save causes the alignment shift to become permanent until dispelled by an Atonement spell. This is a planar effect so it's tier is always treated as half the victim's level.
