The Granite Pestle
Ranu Broketooth was raised in the Gnarley Forest near Narwell, one of seven children. They kept to themselves, living by foraging and hunting throughout the forest. Those skills are still put to use in Ranu's current role as the proprietor of "The Granite Pestle," which makes salves and poultices for those with ailments as well as specialized teas that she claims cure everything from hair-loss to infertility. It is hard to know how (or if) any of it works, but it does smell very nice.

Gundren walks into the shop and is immediately overwhelm by the scents. Lavender, mint, clover, rose. It is like someone had a bag full of flowers and herbs and had dumped it all over the store. The shop was clean and orderly, but the smell was everywhere, almost cloying.
The shop owner, Ranu Broketooth, came out from a backroom at his entrance. The half-orc wore her hair in lengthy braids and had colorful cloths wound around her body in a makeshift dress. She had spectacles and they were a little fogged up, as if she had just walked into a steamy environment.
Gundren asked, "Excuse me, but do you make potions of healing?"
Ranu replied, "Not per se. But I have tonics and tinctures for almost any ailment, including a few to ward off infection and gangrene. But if it is healing you are after, you should probably talk to one of the priests or druids."
Gundren nodded. "Do you have any tea? I'm just looking for something pleasant to drink."
Ranu smiled widely. "That I do. In fact, I was just boiling up a pot of a new blend that I think you might enjoy." She motioned to a small table with two chairs and disappeared back into the back room.
Gundren sat and Ranu returned with a tray, two mugs, a kettle with steam coming out of it, and a couple of mesh bags filled with herbs. "Now, tell me, where is a polite dwarf like yourself from?"
They spent the bulk of an hour testing teas until Gundren found the one he liked best. Ranu was a gracious host and Gundren looked forward to shopping with her again.
