The Drunken Merman
Vinsen Arman is the proprietor of this large inn primarily that serves the midshipmen of merchant vessels docked at the river port. The Captains tend to seek more, civilized, accommodations. Many locals of moderately high means find themselves staying here on occasion as well, particularly when they have "dates" to "entertain".
The rooms are well maintained and private. This inn doesn't have a common room. The food is standard fare, though Vinsen keeps a supply of a special Apple Brandy on hand. He sells this liquor at 1ep, same as normal brandy, but it is significantly stronger, with a mellowing effect. 2 glasses of this and a sailor is willing to talk about anything; 3 and he'll tell you where his grandmother hides her coin.
The private rooms make other custom easier. Vinsen does not allow "escorts" to peddle inside or near the inn, mainly because he has a deal with one of the houses. The house charges a percentage of any gambling winnings here, most winners are happy to pay, because the winnings are usually higher here.
