The Boastful Bard Inn
As its name suggests, this tavern is famous for its story-telling. In fact, one night each week they host a story-telling competition, and the winner gets a week's worth of free drinks and his name placed on the "Wall of Fame." (Truth be told, there is no special "wall." Instead, each winner has his name carved with a knife in small letters into one of the several walls of the establishment. There are hundreds of names there already, and there is room for thousands more.)
The proprietor of the tavern is a humanoid (Half-Orc? Lizardman? Other?) by the name of Atpay, whose particular race (and gender) is impossible to discern. He/she/it is of average size, with faintly green skin, no hair, and deep/dark eyes, with well defined muscles. Atpay never laughs at anyone's jokes, but is pleasant enough in all other respects.
The establishment is popular with non-humans. Dwarves gather to drink mead and sing songs. Elves have been known to open a bottle of wine and recite poetry from the forgotten ages. Halflings will stand on tables to tell tales, and Half-Orcs occasionally compete in feats of strength (usually arm wrestling, but sometimes a game called "punch," which is played exactly as it sounds.)
The wait staff is as unusual as the clientele. Some of them are attractive, in an exotic way. Others are just... strange.
The most popular drink is the house brew, "Dinkeldunkel," which might be the cheapest drink in the quarter but tastes surprisingly good going down. (The joke among regular customers is that you don't pay the real price until the next morning.)
