The Blue Rider

The Blue Rider was run by a former pirate who had been pardoned for saving a powerful lord.  To avoid his negative reputation, Nakor the former pirate, now a bartender, fled far and wide but found that while he was OK as a bartender, he wasn't anywhere near as good as he was at being a pirate.
So he made up a different pirate, one not real at all to avoid informing former enemies where he was, and took out all his old items and hung them on the walls, spinning tales that everyone in town knew didn't exist, but that they gathered to hear anyway.
These days, he is old and has given the job to his son, so while the bar is popular, it is faded and worn, quieter and more dignified.  Prosperity and affluence have made it a respectable but also rough and tumble place, as the bar fluctuates between a loyal higher end clientele, and the rougher sorts who mind their manners with the bruisers who are given free drinks to keep the peace as informal volunteers.  Its quiet and peaceful, but feels like it could erupt at aa bar fight at any time.  Many come to see that eventual fight or to hear Old Nakor come down and regale all with a tale; he does so less and less but it still happens sometimes...
