Oleg's Inn
If there is a nice part of Narwell, Oleg's Inn is not in it. Instead, it can be found down a blind alley. The building itself is two stories and reasonably new. Entering, you find yourself in a reception area that has four small tables, each with a few chairs. There is also a reception desk with a door in the back leading to quarters used by Oleg and his family.
The remainder of the first floor is occupied by a pair of bathrooms (as in rooms with a bath in them) and a large common room. A flight of stairs goes up to the second floor. The common room sleeps up to 20, each provided a mattress and pillow. There is a large fireplace at one end of the room.
Upstairs, there is a corridor that rings the building with eight inside rooms and fourteen outside rooms. There are two toilets and two storage rooms inside the corridor as well. Each room can accommodate 1-4 persons and includes one mattress and pillow. Exterior rooms each have a small window, or two in the corner rooms. Each room also has a chair and a chest.
Breakfast is served in the reception area and consists of porridge, day-old bread, jam, and coffee or tea.
There is a stable out back with space for a dozen horses, or similar mounts.
Oleg is a large, imposing human male, a veteran of the local militia. He has a greying beard and a bit of a limp. His wife Martine is an elf. She does the cooking, serves breakfast, and manages the finances. His daughter Freya, who cleans rooms and draws the baths, is a half-elf. She is 19. Oleg's son Thomas takes care of the animals in the stables and does handiwork around the inn. He is also a half-elf and is 16.

Astrid was looking for a cheap room and more importantly, a bath. She had enough money to splurge for a night before heading to the Blue Dragon to see about Pullo's employment opportunity. It seemed like a reasonable idea to look one's best and more importantly to feel one's best. Oleg's Inn seemed to fit the bill, so she approached the place, although cautiously.
Entering, she looked about, getting a feel for the place, the patrons, the proprietor, and most importantly, the exits. It being evening, the common room already had almost a dozen occupants, most having taken prime positions near the fireplace. A couple of others were playing cards at one of the tables in the reception area. There was no one at the reception desk, so Astrid went over and rang the small bell.
A gristled man with a slight limp emerged from the door in the back, "Evenin' miss," he said. "How can I help you?"
Looking at the rate list, Astrid replied, "a private interior room, breakfast, and a cold bath, please."
Oleg rang the bell three times before taking Astrid's money. A young half-elven girl emerged from the back moments later. Handing the girl a key, he said, "Freya, take the young lady to 5 and arrange for a cold bath."
Freya accepted the key and turned to Astrid, "follow me, please." With that, she headed over to the stairs and pointed to the two doors there. "The left is for cold baths, let me know when you are ready and I will draw the water for you." She then headed up the stairs and around to room number 5, opening the door with the key and handing it to Astrid.
"Bath at 8 tomorrow morning, please," Astrid requested before closing and locking the door and placing the chair against the handle from the inside. It seemed unlikely that anyone would bother her here, but it was always better to be safe than sorry. Looking around the room, it was reasonable clean and the mattress did not smell too bad.
Peeling off her armor, she rested it on the chair, allowing it to air out. She laid her cloak down on the mattress and was soon asleep herself. In the morning, she went down for breakfast at 7, eating her fill before checking out the common room to make sure that it was mostly empty. She returned to her room, got her soap and cloak, and returned to the bathroom, which was all ready for her.
Once inside, she stripped off her clothes and submerged in the tub. She was used to bathing in cold water from decades spent in the woods. After washing herself, she washed her clothes and then wrapped herself in her cloak. Exiting the bathroom, she padded over to the fireplace in the common room and hung her clothing out to dry. She relaxed in a chair by the fire as her hair and clothing dried. Astrid was not particularly modest but she had found that showing off too much skin tended to draw unwanted attention.
When she was done, she headed back upstairs, donned her clothing and armor, put everything in its proper place, and returned the key to Oleg. Now it was time to check out the Blue Dragon.
