Druid's Gate

This small gate is designated by the ring of stones standing just outside of the city here.  It is the least used gate of the city.  Most of it's traffic consists of goods from outlying farmsteads and manors destined for the Low Marketplace.

It is manned by a standard patrol of the City Watch, with a second patrol in the gate house.

The Druids Gate leads directly into the Artisans Quarter.

 A roster is kept of those passing through and those arriving in the city are asked their business.  A Freesword Tax of 3 gp is payable for anyone seeking mercenary work.
  Those carrying weapons other than: dagger, dart, sling, staff, staff-sling, club, and knife are required to pay for a license from the Captain General of the Watch, there are no licenses for weapons larger than a two-handed sword.  The licenses are not available at the gates, they must be obtained from the Office of the Captain-General in the Grand Citadel.

Each gate comprises a pair of huge wooden portals, each at least 12 feet high, eight feet wide and one foot thick.
Each gate is backed by a massive portcullis of iron bars 2 inches thick.
Each gate is enclosed in a small gatehouse consisting of a pair of towers flanking the gate and an enclose area over the gateway.  The tower tops and connecting blockhouse feature arrow slots and murder holes for boiling oil.

Stone Ring

  The Stone Ring of the druids is an ancient site, predating the city by an unknown, but assumingly vast, number of years.  While far from unique in the Flanaess - such rings form a central feature of the druidic faith - the Greyhawk circle is among the oldest yet discovered.
  The tops of the stone columns are worn smooth, the edges rounded by wind and rain.  This is not a scene of regular worship, but druids often stop for a moment of prayer as they pass.
