Chapel of St Cuthbert
Llewen approached the main door of thechapel, which appeared to be made of live oak- an unusual choice of material but perhaps not surprising given Narwell's location near the coast. The exterior walls were made of medium-sized rubble stones held together with lime mortar, and the archway was shaped in the fashion of a cross-vaulted basilica, but without any decorative details, to honor the integrity of the original structure.
The door was open, so there was no need to knock. Llewen passed through, quietly and respectfully, then took a knee and bowed his head at the sight of the altar located at the far end of the hall. After a short prayer of thanks to his Lord, he returned to his feet and then gasped in awe at the sight of the beautiful baptismal font mounted on the wall of the entryway. "Surely, this is it! St. Cuthbert's Stoup!" he marveled.
Continuing on, Llewen passed through four rows of pews before arriving at a pulpit carved from cypress wood, covered with a piece of fine linen cloth, and containing a well-worn copy of "Common Sense." Beyond the pulpit was a simple, slightly elevated altar made of bronzewood and adorned with carvings of the three symbols of St. Cuthbert: the Chapeau, the Starburst, and the Cudgel.
Draped atop the altar was a large tartan with colored patterns of green, brown, and russet, and resting on top of the blanket were three unlit votives set in primitive tin candle pans.
Looking to the sides of the parish hall, there were two doors facing opposite one another in the area between the front pew and the pulpit. Both of these doors were open as well, but Llewen did not feel comfortable proceeding any further, so he stood in the middle of the chamber and called out in a fairly soft voice, "Hello? Is there anyone here?"

After finally making his way by the directions Pullo had given him, Roburt stands in front of the church, taking it all in. The gray colored stone building and the neat, manicured grounds surrounding the church is noticeable right away. Around the back of the church appears to be a small garden again, apparently also well maintained, and another sitting area in the front of the church. A well to the left of the building catches his attention as he goes to get a fresh, cold drink of water.
Before entering the church, Roburt removes his hat and lets it fall back on its cord as he blesses himself before entering. The inside of the church is very plain and simple. There are four wooden pews on each side of the entrance. He makes his way forward and reaches the area just before the alter. To his right it appears to be a storage area for the church, more than likely for daily services and food. To his left, another area looks like it is the quarters for the residing priest. He once again blesses himself in front of the altar before he calls out in a calm voice, "Hello! Good day! I am Roburt VonClaire here to see the priest."
