CREATING A CREATURE
To create your own monster or race, you'll select a size, shape, lifeform, type, and then subtypes.
SIZE
You have Reach 1, Speed 5, and are Medium-sized, which is roughly the size of an average adult human unless you choose otherwise from the following list:
A Large (8 RP) creature is x2-4 times larger than a medium-sized creature.
- +1 reach
- +2 STR score, CMD, Brawn
- -2 DEX score, Reflex, Stealth
- +1 damage dice with STR-based attacks.
A Small (0 RP) creature is roughly 1/2 the size of a medium creature.
- -2 STR score, CMD, Brawn
- +2 DEX score, Reflex, Stealth
A Tiny (0 RP) creature is roughly a 1/4 the size of a medium creature.
- -1 reach
- -4 STR score, CMD, Brawn
- +4 DEX score, Reflex, Stealth
You have advantage on opposed DEX-based skill checks and saving throws against a creature larger than you but disadvantage on opposed STR-based skill checks and saving throws against them. Apply this in reverse against creatures smaller than you.
LIFEFORM
Your lifeform determines what type of life you're classified as.
Organic creatures are made of flesh, blood, bone, and similar materials.
- Immune to ion damage and effects.
- Must have at least 1 ancestry or monster trait.
Spirit creatures are made of incorporeal energy, ectoplasm, or semi-corporal material.
- Immune to bleed damage and effects.
- Must have one of the following traits: Elemental, Fey, Illusion, Undead, or any Planar trait.
Synthetic creatures are made artificially out of non-organic material such as robots and golems.
- Immune to toxic damage and effects.
- Must have one of the following traits: Bionic, Golem, Inevitable, Robotic.
SHAPES
Unless noted otherwise, your monster is humanoid and can physically do all the same stuff humanoids do.
Blob (0 RP) creatures have roughly amorphous or a geometric shaped bodies such as a cube, sphere, or tetrahedron.
- -1 to base speed
- Climb, Levitation, or Swim speed (your choice)
Serpentine (0 RP) creatures appear worm- or snake-like with little to no appendages often moving by slithering.
- -1 to base speed
- Climb, Levitation, or Swim speed (your choice)
Strider (0 RP) creatures walk along close to the ground usually with four or more legs or two very powerful legs.
- +2 speed
- Can't wield or operate anything that requires hands.
Tauric (2 RP) creatures have a lower body like a quadruped but upper bodies like humanoids.
- Self-Steed trait.
- +2 speed (if Large or larger)
- Under-sized Weapons trait (if Large or larger)
TYPES
Choose at least 1 and up to 3 types.
TRAITS
Choose at least 1 and up to 3 types.
LANGUAGES
Unless the creature is a beast or mindless creature, it begins play knowing Common and one language based on its types and traits.
