Rancho del Fuego Stables & Feed Store

The grandiose name is a bit at odds with the battered but sound barn behind the Mission but then again the owner is a bit unconventional. Billy Roberts is an African-American who after being freed and serving a hitch in a Negro cavalry regiment during the Civil War. He picked up enough portable valuables during raids and skirmishes to move out West to make a new start. Billy mostly deals in mules for the surrounding mines and always has a half dozen or so in an adjoining corral. He deals in feed for livestock and will stable a horse now and then. Billy is friendly to soldiers and veterans of the Civil War, even Confederates if they are courteous. Any veteran gets half off.

Horses can be stabled for $.50 per day.
